Nina Ulanova (Russian: Нина Уланова) is an Holiday on Ice skater who skated in the show Energia with partner Michal Zych. She skates with Holiday on Ice since 2001.
Biography[]
Nina Ulanova was born in 1978 and began skating in 1982. She and partner Michail Stifunin won the silver medal at the 1995 Russian Junior Championships. In 1996, they became the Russian Junior champions and the World Junior champions. They skated together until 1999, placing as high as 5th at the senior Russian Championships. For the 1999–2000 season, Ulanova teamed up with Alexander Pavlov, with whom she placed 4th at the 2000 Russian Championships.
In 2007 Nina competed in the Dutch ice skating TV show Sterren Dansen op het IJs with partner Thomas Berge. The duo placed 3th after losing the skate-off against Geert Hoes and Sherri Kennedy. [1]
In 2011, Ulanova appeared on series 6 of ITV's Dancing on Ice, partnered with Steven Arnold. They were voted off in episode 4. She took part in the 2011 Dancing on Ice Tour and partnered with professional skater Matt Evers. In 2012, she appeared on series 7 partnered with Matthew Wolfenden and won the series. She didn't return in 2013 for series 8, revealing on Twitter that she is expecting a baby. She was partnered with Kyran Bracken for the 2014 series of Dancing on Ice.[2]

Ballet magazine described her as "sensational" in Holiday on Ice at the Wembley Arena in 2008; whilst The Times in its review of Fantasy at Brighton Centre, commented: "Nina Ulanova and Martin Simecek enact a smoothly romantic adagio routine."[3]
